SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS

The Sports Department is one of the greatest assert of RBVRR Women’s College. The Department came to flourish in late 60’s and early 70’s League was conducted in various games.

Ms. G. Mulini Reddy and Ms. Hemalatha was an outstanding player in Volley Ball. They both represented Osmania University, State and National level in the Volley Ball tournaments. Ms. G. Mulini Reddy was honoured with Arjuna Award in 1973 by the then President Honorary Faqruddin Ali Ahmed.

Outstanding Sports Women(2018-19)

Sunena Kawale B A 1st year, secured GOLD MEDAL in Regional WRESTLING competition. She has been selected for, All India University Wrestling Competition, held in Aurangabad – 2018-2019

K.Sunena of B A 2 nd year student secured Gold medal in 5th junior Boys Free Style, Greco Roman Style and Women Wrestling Inter District Wrestling .Championship 2019. Held on 17.01.2019 at LB Stadium, Hyderabad

Nikitha of Bt C Fs 2nd year secured 3rd place in Inter District Yoga held at Hyderabad on 2nd sept 2018.

R.Aarthi of BtCFs 2nd year secured all above achievements in karate at various levels 2018-2019.

Ms. T. Sukeshini was other outstanding Volley Ball player, who represented Osmania University and State level Volley Ball tournaments.

Ms. K. Ronjini, B.Com and Ms. B. Usha, B.Com won the Osmania University Inter-College Table -Tennis and represented Osmania University and State level.

Ms. M.K. Kusuma, Ms. Rajeshwari, Ms. Shoba, Ms. Anita and Ms. Ambika participated in Osmania University Inter College Chess tournament and won the Championship.

Ms. M. Kusuma represented State in All India Nationals Chess tournament held at Calcutta in December 1975 and achieved Third place in India.

1975-76

Basket Ball:

Ms. Kumari Kashmira and Ms. Shoba, B.A I year participated in Inter – University held at Trivandrum in November 1975.

Ms. Meenashi Radia, B.A II year Capitan, Ms. Prabhavathama, B.Sc III year, Ms. Vasathi Naina and Ms. Nandini, B.A. I year represented the Osmania University in the Bassket Ball Tournament held at Calicut.

Kho-Kho:

Ms. Kumari Kunda Joshi represented Osmania University for Inter-varsity held at Indore in December 1975.

Cricket(1979-80):

Cricket team was formed in the early 1980’s. Ms Manjul Nirmal Kumar and Ms. Sangeetha Krishan represented State in All India Nationals. They also represented Osmania University, South Zone. Ms Manjula Nirmal Kumar led O.U. Cricket team and AP State Cricket Team.

Pakistan Cricketer Mustaq Ahmed has given his Autobiography to Ms. Manjula Nirmal Kumar for her Captaincy. She score Ten centuries in local matches and she played against England in the early 1980’s.

Our College were League Champions in Women Cricket during 1982-83.

In 1986, Ms Anuradha Nirmal Kumar, BA was nominated as the Captain of Osmania University and AP State Cricket Team. Under her captaincy AP State team were All India Champions in All India Cricket Nationals, held at Calcutta in December 1986.

Physical Directors

  • Afsar Ahmed was the First Physical Director of the college. She was a Badminton player. She retired in the year 1989.
  • Anuradha Nirmal Kumar was second Physical Director during the period 1989 to 1994.
  • Usha Rani was the Third Physical Director in 1994.
  • Ms Anuradha Nirmal Kumar rejoined back as the Physical Director in 2010.

During the period of Ms. Usha Rani as Physical Director, our college teams participated in many Inter College tournaments. She organised Inter-Collegiate Chess and Carroms tournaments. The Students participated in the inaugural of the AFRO ASIAN Games held in Hyderabad on 24th October to 1st November 2003.

Ms. Anuradha Nirmal Kumar, Physical Director put her efforts to develop the Basket Ball Court, Kabbadi Court, Cricket ground and Gym.

Sports was added in CBCS with 30 classes and allotted one credit.

Under her able and experienced guidance the students participated in various competitions.

2010

  • Our college team participated in Shotput. Ms. Eshwari, B.Com II year secured the 3rd She also won a Gold Medal in Hammer throw organised by OUICT.Student Achievements:
    • Sushmita,BCom and Ms. Shinny, BSc(BZC) represented OU, State and Youth Nationals in Volley Ball Tournaments for the three consecutive years i.e., 2013 to 2015.
    • Kavitha, BA represented OU Hockey Team in the Hockey Tournaments for the four consecutive years i.e., 2011-2014.
    • Prashanthi, MBA represented Osmania University in Yoga tournaments for Three consecutive years i.e., 2012 – 2014.
    • Mrunalini,B.Sc(MECs) I year, was selected to represent OSMANIA UNIVERSITY for Kho-Kho South Zone Inter University held at Chennai from 5th to 11th January 2016.
    • M. Kavya, BA I year, was selected to represent Hyderabad for Foot Ball Nationals Held at Chennai from 2nd to 5th January 2016.
    • Haveela, B.Sc(BZC) I year, was selected to represent Osmania University for Volley Ball Nationals held at Chennai from 2nd to 7th February 2016.

    • Anuradha Nirmal kumar was appointed as Manager for Hyderabad Women’s Cricket Team for Nationals held at Benguluru in December 2014.
    • Anuradha Nirmal Kumar was nominated as Manager for Bombay Cricket Team by BCCI Nationals held in Hyderabad from 30thNovember to 4th December 2015 held at Hyderabad and also for under 16 South one Inter State from 5th to 11th January 2016 for Goa Cricket Team.
